Trista Gibbons is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 23 years of clinical experience. Prior to her work at Point Beyond Mental Health Collective, she was the Associate Director at the Indiana State University Student Counseling Center for 13 years. There she provided individual, couples and group therapy to ISU college students. She also supervised and helped with the training of practicum students, interns, and unlicensed staff. She has a Masters degree in counseling psychology from the Alfred Adler Graduate School in Minnesota, and a Bachelors degree in psychology and family studies from St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
Trista has experience and training in working with survivors of sexual and relationship violence, childhood and family trauma, and relationship issues. Her professional experience prior to working at ISU includes coordinating and implementing direct services at the Sexual Violence Center in Minneapolis MN and working with children and families at Hamilton Center, a community mental health center.
Her professional interests include women’s issues, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, relationships and couples counseling, Christian counseling, and working with survivors of sexual and relationship violence. Trista loves animals and has two dogs at home. She loves being able to interact and work with our two therapy dogs at Point Beyond. She also enjoys traveling, plants and gardening.
